Hilili by Brian HolmesThis katsina doll is carved by Brian Holmes from Hotevilla. He is 8" tall. Hiilili is a whipper katsina, guard or security figure whose family appears during the Powamuya, Angkwa and the summer day katsina dances. Dressed in the Snake Dancers costume, he is a very spirited dancer. The Koyemsimu sing to them when they perform in group dances during Angk'wa. Hiilili vary a great deal and are very collectable for this reason.
